15.) The good life – 42/1000

The good life is an artist book produced from a diary written during a performance work in July 2014 where the artist lived alone outside abstaining from the use of industrialised energy for 28 days on the grounds of the Zeche Zollverein in Essen Germany.

In the opening chapter the artist has written a statement discussing the futile practice of ruminating over the meaning of life, especially as everybody already knows the answer to be the number 42; which is a sardonic reference to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

The books were subsequently and coincidentally delivered from the printers in cartons of 42. In turn each book was part of an edition with the same number for each copy, 42/1000.
